Pergolas in Bendigo
New pergolas, and old ones rebuilt like for like.

We build and rebuild timber pergolas around Bendigo and central Victoria.
A pergola looks simple, but it is all on show: every joint, post and rafter can be seen from below. That is why we take the same care with it as with the finish work inside a home.
What we build
- Timber pergolas
- Entryway pergolas
- Like for like rebuilds on heritage homes
A recent job
Heritage pergola, like for like
The house has a heritage overlay so the project had to be completed in a like for like manner.
We rebuilt this entryway pergola on a home with a heritage overlay.
The client did her own painting to add a personal touch. The fresh heritage green really brought it to life.

Questions people ask
Do I need a permit for a pergola in Victoria?
Often not, if it is a true pergola. Victoria's rules exempt a pergola that is no higher than 3.6 metres, no bigger than 20 square metres, and no more than 2.5 metres in front of the front wall of the house.
A true pergola has no roof, only an open weave covering at most, so a roofed structure does not get this exemption, and a Heritage Overlay can still call for a planning permit.
How much do pergolas cost to build?
It depends on the size, the timber, how much is on show, and whether it is a new pergola or a rebuild of an old one. The only firm number is a written quote for your pergola.
