We are renovation builders in Bendigo, and we take on custom renovations of every size, from a general freshen up with new trim work to a full internal rebuild. Andrew Siggs is a registered builder, and each job is built to suit the home it is in.
If you have a room that does not work for you, tell us what you have in mind. We can talk it through with you, and where a job needs other trades we can refer you to them.

An empty room to a study
Got an empty room and a vision?
A bare room with a brick wall became a home study: new walls, an arched door in a moulded arch, and custom storage across one wall with bench seats below it.

Questions people ask
What is a major domestic building contract in Victoria?
It is the written contract required for domestic building work worth more than $10,000, including renovations, extensions and repairs.

Does my house have asbestos?
Australia banned asbestos in 2003, and the Victorian Government says a home built or renovated before 1990 likely contains it. Common places are eaves, external wall cladding, and the linings behind bathroom, kitchen and laundry tiles.
Check before any repairs or renovations, even drilling a hole, and use a licensed asbestos removalist, because a builder generally is not licensed to remove it.

What year houses have lead paint?
Lead paint was used in many Australian homes before 1970, and homes built more recently can still have it. It becomes a danger when it flakes, peels or is sanded, so renovation is the risky time, and children under five and pregnant or breastfeeding women should stay out of the work area.
If your home was built before 1970, have the paint tested before anyone sands or strips old skirting, doors or window frames.

When do you need a registered builder?
In Victoria, a builder or tradesperson doing work worth more than $10,000 must be registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, and the job needs a written major domestic building contract.
Restumping, reblocking and demolition need a registered person whatever the price. Work that is only one trade, such as painting, tiling, plastering, plumbing or electrical work, is treated differently.
